Like it, David. The solid blacks and limited shading give it a stylized look that I like. Great that you're getting a likeness without a grid, always a bit hit and miss when I try it. Your brain/hand co-ordination is obviously benefiting from the work you're putting in.

Just to have a break from pencil drawings another portrait with pen on toned paper. A practice trying to get a likeness without a grid (objective achieved)

Inspired by an artist friend I came back to paint a bit at the end of 2017. At the moment I am enjoying it and maybe because I have the patience to look more than I once did I am finding it easier and more enjoyable to actually produce a likeness.
