Fabulous first attempt - painstaking work on those bricks I bet! Also love the flowers in the foreground, composition works very well.

This is marvellous for a first attempt. The main thing is to enjoy the process without worrying too much about the result. The more you relax the easier it will become. Your off to an excellent start Darren.

Yes, the brickwork evolved into a mammoth task - as you move from the left of the picture to the right I think you can see I was getting a bit impatient with it! But as I mentioned I really enjoyed working with oil paints, just looking for more inspiration.. Thanks again

This is my first attempt at painting with oils. It's on a 30x30cm mdf board, sealed and primed with nothing but white acrylic emulsion. Then I broadly underpainted in acrylics before painting again in oils. Some areas I like, such as the curtain wall, but some areas have ended up a bit sketchy. The main thing is, I loved doing it!
