Very nicely done, like your brushwork particularly her top

Very nice, like the scattered light

Nicely done Michael.

Love the pose, colours and dabs of sunlight Michael.

Well, she probably did pull it off better than you - but you won't be surprised by that... I think your painting works, and also think it would have worked better if you'd just put a bit more work in; I understand the fear of fiddling at something and getting tighter and tighter, until you've lost the whole point of the picture and any pleasure you might have got from it - but all the same, there's a difference between fiddling away and just finishing the painting. The figure works well, and I like the clean colours; other elements - well I can certainly understand the difficulty, but I think I'd have refined things a bit more: and maybe just ruined it! But then, no one with any sense says this business is easy.

As always thank you for your comments, feedback is important to me. The paintings I am doing At the moment are really just sketches to improve my painting especially the light and movement side of things. A friend introduced me to some (new to me) artists and I have been copying their work to try and understand how they achieved what I am trying to achieve, consequently what I have done are only finished to a sketching stage. But feedback is important and I take the point that maybe they could be tidied up a bit more, if, indeed, my patience would allow. 🙂

Another copy from the painting by Camille Przewodek. She pulled off the scattered light far better than me.
