Autumnal still life
This is the first painting from my Autumnal still life series I'm working on. Oil on panel 20cm x 30cm. How nice do those rose hips look! They really stand out don't they. I couldn't resist them whilst foraging for inspiration. Did you know that Rose hips in particular the Dog rose hip like in this painting, are known as the tastiest. They would and still are used to make things such as cakes, jelly, tea, and sweets. Children from the past would use the hairs inside as itching powder 😳
