Horse Chestnuts (Conkers)
Oil on panel 20cm x 30cm, painted with Brushes. When I was a young lad, every Sunday I would go to my Nan's and have a wonderful Sunday lunch. Each year when the horse chestnuts would fall. My uncle Les, (whom was actually my Grandads best friend from the war days) would greet me and my brothers with bags full of Conkers. It was like bags of treasure to us. We would spend ages picking the biggest and best Conkers. Once we finally did, off came our shoe laces and away we went. (A Celebration of my Childhood)
