A lovely drawing, Cheryl!

Nice one Cheryl.

Good giraffe Cheryl

There's a rather knowing look about your giraffe - as though he's got a secret which wouldn't do you any favours if he were to reveal it.... No, there's nothing wrong with not being perfect, and I don't suppose you've posted on the Gallery for criticism; but could I suggest, without offending you, that going for the broad shapes without worrying about the detail to start with, could be helpful as you keep making progress? Light touch, outlines/shapes, then home in on the detailed touches, and only those you can actually see - the trouble with drawing from somebody else's drawing is that they've done the work they needed to do, and all you can really do is add to it.... but it's just a thought, that if you can work from life (anyone got a giraffe to hand?) it's better and easier. I wouldn't bang on about it if I didn't see the promise in your work.

Robert thank you for taking the time to suggest ways to make progress with my art. I appreciate this as sometimes a different perspective is needed to enable us to see what we might be missing. I’ll definitely give this a try.
