superb study Chris, well done

Another beautiful example of natural forces at work - decay and change are part of life; external agents cause degradation and decay: an artist who reflects this will always have the edge on those who seek to conceal it. This month's profound comment.......

Thank you Tommy and Robert. "This month's profound comment" was very interesting. I'm having trouble with a rotting birch tree at the moment and have my eye on a rotting beech - so there may be more to come.

Excellent work, love the mossy bark.

I love trees too and this is just beautiful.

Acrylic on canvas board 20in x 24in. Exploring that couple of weeks in early spring when the algae on the trunks turns the oaks bright green. My attention was caught by this particular pollard being double-headed, making it a bit more unusual.
