Winter Stirring by Chris Howkins
Acrylic on Art Board 37x40cm This is the last of the current batch painted with the pot scourer, except the trunk was then worked over with a brush, (still using the structure gel so as to maintain texture). The surface is now so textured that visitors keep stroking it! It's another of the oaks at Barlavington (see June Greens) where those writhing boughs are so provocative - just right for new life stirring out of the winter solstice for Early Saxon celebration.
