Saint Peter's School, York, founded 627 AD
Watercolour and pen on a board. This view is taken of the front of the main building. I attended St Peters and its Junior School from 1945 to 1955. My father taught there for30 years and all my siblings were pupils. Founded in the year 627 AD, it is the fourth oldest school in Europe and oldest in Britain with a continuous existance. I was tempted to include Guy Fawkes who was an old boy but he was a pupil long before this building was erected
