Having just added this painting, I have had another look at it and I am a little troubled by the relationship between the three yachts. The perspective doesn't look quite right. Could someone please point me in the right direction. Cheers. Chris

I love the loose painting, it is very evocative, I can see Helen's point about the yachts and agree with this.

Lovely free washes Chris, the water looks very realistic and glowing, with the shore uncluttered, giving a lead in to the lake. I'm not sure the tree is needed but I think the boats work ok.

Thank you for your comments Helen, Sandra and Stephen. Helen, I think you are right. The medium boat on the left should have been positioned lower down so that the hull sits at a height between the large and small yacht.

31/2 in x 51/2 inch postcard size imaginary sketch. Done in about 30 minutes. Unusual for me to be so loose, but I enjoyed it so much, I intend to try a similar technique on a larger scale. Most of it was done wet into wet with a 3/4 inch flat brush. The rocks in the foreground were simply scraped out with a credit card. I hope you like it.
