A wonderful gallery, like them all especially this one. Light and shade is excellent.

Good work; a difficult painting to attempt - agree with Stephen about the light and shade: darks in watercolour can turn very treacherous: in particular, they can die on you. But your darks, which take up a significant part of the painting, have life within them. Leaves me wondering what you used, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't either black or Payne's Grey - too rich and juicy!

Thank you for your comments. I always use the same mix for all shadows.That is Ultramine blue/ Alisaron crimson( more to the blue side) with a touch of Burnt sienna to grey it.. Use a stonger mix for foreground shadows. Painted over any base colour, it will instantly look as if it is in the shade. I hope this helps
