The mill, the forground and the sky half way up are fantastic, Chris. The smoke coming out of the hat is probably from the bread-oven ;-) - - - you are so nearly there! Watercolour scares me! If it were oil, you could just glaze and rework that bit. I like your portfolio!

I think you are being a bit harsh on yourself Jorgen, I suppose you could lift a bit of the dark out of the cloud as it's on Bockingford.

I love the colours you have used in this painting and the grasses and daffs in the foreground set the mill off perfectly. As Stephen says Bockingford paper is quite forgiving and you should be able to lift some of the colour out if you feel you need to. Great painting

The previous comments make sense now, actually you didn't need to change the rest of this painting Chris ie the clouds and colour in the forground daffs, you just needed to paint the Windmill much stronger which you did beautifully!

12"x9" on Bockingford 140lb. This is a working flour mill recently featured on the BBC's 'Country File'. Failed dismally with the sky again I must learn to stop fiddling. I tried to make the area behind the dome dark to make it stand out but overworked the cloud area. I hope you like the rest of it though. MUST TRY HARDER!!!!!
