Well, this certainly works, the water and the rocks, great. A typical Murdoch sky. Wouldn't you like to command his prices! Then maybe you do? Anyway, Good Work Chris Jeannette (back to my painting)

Great picture, so I went to explore Hugh Murdoch.'s work. Didn't find much but definitely prefer this!

Jeanette and Anne, thank you for your kind comments. I am a member of the Dunfermline Art Club and Hugh carried out a workshop there. It was a great day using paint from tube to canvas and pallette knives. A long way from my comfy pastels. Would love to be able to command his prices! Starting at £600..........I have a long way to go. :)

Excellent work from thin layers to thick texture of rocks and foreground. Nice use of pallette knife too. Paul Beattie

Fine painting. remarkable that this was your first acrylic. You could sell this one easily! John Hunter.

Great painting, you can feel the force of that water. Nice one.

I like the water effect on this . If this was your first attempt at acrylic well done

Chris, just saw your painting in the side view gallery, it brings back great memories of Glencoe, a great painting, keep painting with the acrylics. Cheers!

Thought I would take a break from pastels and have a go with acrylics to loosen my style. This is my first work, taking my inspiration from the artworks of Fife artist, Hugh Murdoch.
