Hope your mum forgave you - she'll have a colourful scarf, anyway. I like the way you've treated the tree; thicker paint would help your picture to stand out more, but you're heading in the right direction.

Really like this and the colours you have used - I went for a walk yesterday to a local pond where there are lots of geese, took a few photos and was wondering how to paint them so your painting has given me a few pointers. Love your gallery.

Thank you all for your comments! Hello Robert, I agree, I think that more impasto would bring more life into the branches and foliage. I think the colour dominance of the background doesn't help but I know for next time! :)

This was done at the start of the year and these were some of the worst conditions to paint this fairly large (for me) scale oil painting. My palette, full of paint, was blown into my mum's scarf!
