I like the way the face emerges from the dark background Cesare. Have you added pastel?

Many thanks Gudrun and Marjorie. I have in the first step painted the background with acrylic black, but it seemed to me too much dark and too badly spread. Therefore I have removed a bit of colour with sandpaper that gave rise to the textured background. Then I have covered the background with two watercolour washes, on the left with red violet, and on the right with yellow lemon. I am glad you like the result, Marjorie.
