Good one Catherine. Not sure what medium you have used but I find myself using my fingers a lot when blending and building up layer by layer. One tip on hair I would turn your painting upside down so you paint from root tip backwards that way you can get a finer point on the scalp and thicker as you go that way it will look less like a fringe if you see what I mean. am only a beginner so others more expert than me will probably comment
