Left painting will be lower in the mount. Should the mount be black?

I think it should be a tad lower Caroline ( pic on left) it's your painting not his...do your handle exactly how you want to do it.

Both looking good. I think the handle is fine! I do think the mount might be better lighter but also depends on your frame colour.
