A sea bird or two flying to cliffs.Maybe some wave breakers. Very very nice painting you have put a lot of work into it!! Well done.

Thank you Paul. It has been a long job. I have repainted the sea soooooo many times! Don't think I can stomach touching that bit again actually! Thanks for your thoughts

Once again very lovely Carole and very clever. there's nothing wrong with that sea. Best wishes Jeannette

Thank you Jeannette, waht a lovely critique once again. I really do appreciate your thoughts. Regards Carole

Lovely painting, really love the sea and the rocks are excellently drawn. In my opinion I'd leave the painting the way it is. Its Great.

Thank you Lorraine, two to one - I'm leaving well alone! Thanks all

Seeing your painting I couldn't resist googling Casa Malaparte - amazing! I get vertigo just looking at your picture - really well done. I respect your reticence about adding to the scene as whatever you put in would become the focal point, and you don't want to patch up that sea if you change your mind. In a similar dilemma I have sketched onto tracing paper and overlaid it to assess the outcome - this means you can move it around to pick the best position.

Thank you Robert - yes it is a stunning place, but then the whole island is. By the way - I might try your tracing paper trick sometime!

Thanks for your comments Carole, this site seems to work best when people post comments that then lead you to their work ,as no-one has time to trawl through all the artists' portfolios. I either respond to a comment or post comments to new postings which are displayed on the sites home page as they are posted. Having basked in your praise I visited your portfolio expecting similar work to mine and I was right. You seem as obsessed by the sea almost as much as I am ,and although your Venetian pieces stray from this theme they remain very much within the Med themed genre that also provides much af the inspiration for my work. To answer your question I will be posting more of my Med sea based pictures once I have decided as you did whether to add the odd boat or seagull. I'm afraid I entered the market with my sea based work at the tale end of its popularity , John Martin and others beat me to it and its popularity is waning now. I'm no expert Carole but I would say your sea paintings have something different about them, the cliffs and rocks and foliage are reminiscent of early Dali works and your Venetian works remind me of another surrealist De Ciricero. If I were you I would just paint and not try to analyse the finished product too much.....the product IS finished as you produced it that way. Its freshness and almost naive qualities are exactly what brought the early surrealists to the attention of the art world.KOP Joe Rhodes

Hi Joe and thank you for your comments. You have a much better understanding of the arts than myself! I tried to look up De Ciricero on google but nothing came up??? Anyway, I really apprecaite your comments

Sorry carole, I clearly don't understand spelllling, look up Georgio de Chirico.

very well done on the awkward perspective, nice colours as well.I would leave any boats out of this scene looks fine as it is.

Thank you Mark, it is a beautiful place - back there next week for 2 glorious weeks. I appreciate your positive comments, and I agree, it's on the wall now, with no additions!

thank you Carole for the wonderful comment, I do apprecaite it...WoW! you have a fabulous talent....

Thank you so much Tracey anne - needed that pick-me-up today :)

This popped up on the right [I thought I had commented on it but not so]. I still love the feel of this...as ever Carole you capture that blissful mediterranean feel...the colours and the rock detail is absolutely stunning...as ever...

Very kind Phil thank you. This one is hanging in our living room at the moment, looks nice.

Fabulous red futuristic house with an amazing view of the Bay of Naples (and a glass floor so you can see the sea beneath) Haven't put any boats in yet, not sure whether to - thoughts anyone???
