Tracks and Trods by Carlina Oliver

Tracks and Trods

This is a beautiful painting Carlina. Love the clarity of the blue sky and the freshness of the greens.

Very accomplished work in a medium I find extremely difficult. I didn't know about 'trods', either! Often wondered what they were: well you learn something new every day...

I especially like these pastels of the Downs you do, Carlina-you seem to capture their drowsy sunlit mood perfectly. More please!

Thank you so much, Dympna, Robert & Jo.

Looking west along the South Downs towards Ditchling Beacon. Plenty of chalk tracks but also hillsides altered by trods - the paths made over the years by thousands of sheep hooves following the same route again and again.
