Portrait (after Rembrandt)

I think both pastels are very good. I particularly like this one; quizical look! (How do you spell that?)

Quizzical. There. You get spelling lessons on POL too... This was one of Rembrandt's last self-portraits, I believe; painted in oil, of course - you've got a very good interpretation in pastel, to such an extent that I thought it was an oil.

Impressive - I too thought it was in oils.

Thank you Gudrum,Robert and Jane for your kind comments. Surprising what you can achieve with pastels even if they are a bit messy to work with.

I enjoy trying to copy Old Masters. It`s quite a challenge. I understand Rembrandt did more than a 100 self portraits. Suppose it saves on models fees. Good for him !!!
