Redundant Gate by Brian Elsey

Redundant Gate

this is very nice, love the gate and the colours, i can never do green x

The scenery is magnificent - you have captured a wonderful sense of distance. I like the way you have painted the foreground stubble, it is very realistic. The gate is well painted too - but for me the painting would have worked just as well without it.

this is like a photograph, so crisp and clean :-) i love gates, but i cannot draw them :-) this is a lovely painting :-)

A ventral subject which works so well. Great regression.

The gate may be redundant but it opens the view to a very picturesque landscape.

Fantastic Brian, it's all wonderful.

Really good Brian. Your portfolio is lovely and varied. I love doing landscapes, very relaxing. The gate and grasses are very well painted and take you in to the painting then bring you back to look at the foreground again.

Out of all the posts in the last week, I've kept coming back to this one time and time again and wondering what to say about it. I've decided there is only one thing I can say. I love it. Don't know why unless it reminds me of home but just everything about it is right.

I agree with Diana totally, I really like this painting too.

Thank you all for the very encouraging comments. Its great to get such positive feedback.
