you have captured the hedgerow so well Brian, this really caught my eye, beautiful.

Love this Brian! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that sees the beautiful nature around us and not just as weeds! :)

We call the small version cow parsley and the large version Giant Hogweed. This is superb . It could have looked over busy and confused but it isn't.

Thank you for your kind comments. According to my Flora it is Heracleum sphondylium, not the very much larger giant hogweed. It was used as pig food and the sprouting leaves and shoots taste like asparagus - I haven't tried it myself. Hogweed, or Cow parsnip are the common names, but different areas of the country have different names for it. Anyway, I'm pleased you like the picture.

Captured perfectly, lovely painting.

I'm really impressed with how you captured the depth - I noticed the back appears slightly out of focus, while the foreground is sharply focussed... looks like a real photograph. Your background color, too, looks almost surreal - possibly as if "the photo you painted from" was taken in an indoor terrarium/lighting. Just amazing texture and depth.. Very very nice..

Agreed, super close up of this hedgerow Brian, great detail

Thank you so much for your encouraging comments. I wish I had more time to paint more.

At the end of June the Hedgerows were full of Hogweed or Cow Parsnip. I thought I would try to capture them.
