Some time ago I won 100 Derwent Coloursoft Pencils as a prize from Leisure Painter. I was never happy using them, but I have suddenly discovered that I rather like them. My method is to tint the larger areas by lightly applying pastel with a tissue, and then working into it with the pencils. Don't know if this is a correct way to use them, but it seems to work for me.
