Apples

Brave , brave man..... well done.

A good start, you've chosen a difficult medium to start with, but that may well be the best way to go. The apple on the left is good - of course one can tell it's an early effort, but that's not what is important: the point is you're getting the idea already. The one on the right has a rather wobbly outline, but I still like the colour, and the way you've juxtaposed the two. Don't be afraid to paint the shadow right up to the base of the fruit, otherwise they'll look as if they're floating. If in doubt, wait until the object is dry before indicating the shadow - you can move on to wet in wet later (I see you've already had a try in the apple on the right). You are indeed brave to post your earliest efforts - believe me, I wouldn't have done!
