Trying proper gouche by Claire Williams

Both are nicely done Claire , yes gouache is a very different medium to watercolour, some similarities but needs to be tested differently. You can use both in the same painting but gouache is opaque compared to watercolour.

Yes, I have bought colours l like to use straight from the tube with watercolour and acrylic gouche, whereas I only got a basic mixing set with the artist's gouche. I expect I will learn lot about colour using them.

Claire - I think you are doing very well with your efforts. I must admit I find gouche quite difficult to master and as a result tend to steer well clear of it as a medium! Perhaps I should persevere more!!

I really like trying new mediums and styles.....I especially like tetrapak and lino print printing, but I haven't got a press at home so just do them in workshop. I would really like to try oil and Elencaustic painting and screen printing if I get the chance.
