Met a lovely Lab cross today; called him a "good boy" - my conversational gambits with dogs are a bit limited - and his owner said "He's NOT a good boy! I've just finished cleaning up because he'd rolled in fox poo - just because I didn't take him out yesterday!" Looks can so deceive. But I'm sure your Collie IS a good boy, and you've done him justice in pen and ink.
