No apologies required - lovely painting David!

A lovely representation of a Constable. No apology required. Nice work David.

Love the church - so finely done David - and I think you have made a decent job with the greens. It's lovely.

Thank you Guy, Alan and Sarah for your kind comments - much appreciated.

Superb painting David, love the colours.

I think it stands very handsomely in its own right (I actually like those greens)

Brilliant observation. Great feeling.

Thank you Stephen, Heather and Michael for your kind comments.

Agree with Guy, you have painted the scene so skilfully David. I bet you got a lot out of this.

Thank you Carole for your very kind comment!

John instructs me to say he forgives you. I'm not sure what Constable used for greens - but feel sure the information is out there somewhere, because he did make notes, I believe. It's a lovely painting of the church, and even if you felt you haven't got the greens right, you've certainly captured the weathered stonework.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and support, Robert.

It’s a very successful painting in its own right David…..lovely job.

A superb piece of work Constable or not David.

Thank you Fiona and Chris for your very kind comments!!

There is no need to apologise- it’s a great painting.

I like the way you have painted the church in this David.

Thank you Spencer and David for your kind comments and remarks,

Thank you Petra and Sandra for your kind comment.

A watercolour I attempted yesterday based on Constable's painting of the parish church in Theale, Berkshire - the scene painted in 1832. Could not get the right shades of green!!
