The energetic power of water

I like it, Sandra. The vivid colours really stand out, it caught my eye immediately.

I like the idea of the power of the water which I think you’ve pretty well achieved in this more abstract form. The foreground and distance work well, as does the intrusion of the water onto the land nearest. Good colours too!

The colours you have chosen certainly evoke energy, I like this a lot. The only suggestion that I can make would be to make the brush marks in the water going over the left hand barrier slightly bigger and those over the right smaller, so that it amplifies the effect of the water rushing at you. It is very good just as it is though.

I like your colours Sandra and you certainly can feel the flow of the water 😀

I get the rushing energy in this Sandra, well done!

Bags of energy in this painting, Sandra. I've often thought of trying abstract but have no clue about how to start, so I admire people who can and produce work as interesting as this.

Thank-you all very much for your kind comments, which are really appreciated. Alita, that is an excellent suggestion, and as I haven't yet varnished it I can make that adjustment.

The water really does have that effect of speed, it'll be interesting to see any changes you make Sandra.

Like this a lot Sandra! Bags of movement and energy and I especially like where you have brought the water in to the bottom border.

Thank-you very much Marjorie, Margaret, Fiona. Marjorie, because Alita's suggestion is such a minor change I won't re-post, it would look very similar.

Lovely abstract quality to this Sandra and the colours are striking thank you for the welcome back

Thank-you very much Dermot.

You have certainly given us that power Sandra.

Acrylic 12x16 inch canvas. Attempt to go freer and more abstract. Not sure about the water splashing over the 3 barriers in the water, appreciate any advice.

About the Artist
Sandra Kennedy

I became hooked on painting when I joined an evening class on painting "Abstracts in Acrylic" some years ago. Now retired, I was painting fairly regularly until the last couple of years when I've had a "creative drought". This year I'm getting back into painting, concentrating on abstract.
