Thanks. I've found that , for me, trying to copy a single photo of the sea produces a static painting. I do a few pencil sketches on site, and take several photos which I then work from in the studio.

Love your 'wintry' seascapes. I have found that I like to place lots of relevant photos of light and cloud effects around the subject I'm working on onto a continuous 'slide show' loop on my computer , and have this continuously 'playing' while I'm working - very evocative and helpful!
