The Mystery Umbrella Man by Ashley Raddon

A great feeling of film noir, spot on!

A very suspicious person :)

Great composition and painting.

Full of mystery and movement - you got those dense blacks just with W & N Payne's Grey? That's an achievement in itself.... I like that little touch of light in the more distant dark - and the crispness of those lines. One of us needs to go and write a thriller based on this painting, and use this as the cover - not I, I hasten to add; I don't have that sort of imagination; maybe Tony Auffret...

Thanks Christine

Thanks Robert, thinking about it, I may have used some lamp black in this one and you're right Paynes Grey has that blue in it

A monochromatic watercolour painted using Winsor and Newton Paynes Grey on Bockingford paper. A film noir feeling to my painting subject, which adds to the suspense.
