My Childhood Street by Ashley Raddon

I lived in a street like this too, in fact one of those houses on the lhs could have been mine, happy days. A lovely sketch

You've definitely captured the light, Ashley in this very nice nostalgic drawing. Like Heather it's reminiscent of my old street but in the 40s we hardly saw a car!

How wonderful when art can spark a memory, thats what I love about what we create... thanks guys

Lovely pen/ink drawing Ashley! The criss-hatching certainly draws out the linear and one can feel the nostalgia from childhood memories too of the street scene. Seems ages since I remember walking along the streets with houses in a row and the perspective with the chimney pots and bay windows too! Lovely pen/ink work indeed!

Thanks Angela. I live in a Victorian terraced house (1893) and it's amazing whilst we've been modernized much of our houses remain the same other than for cosmetic changes and they still hold memories of many families

This is a great pen and ink drawing Ashley. Like others, it’s reminiscent of my childhood street in the 60s.

A drawing using a fine ink pen on cartridge paper depicting a simple life in the 70s, drawn with cross hatching strokes to identify the shapes, lorry, buildings and figures. Always trying to exaggerate the light and not always easy using this drawing style but great fun trying
