A wonderful portrait of Socks, he looks so good. Years ago I used to have a dog called Socks but he was black with white feet.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. I took a photograph of Socks on my iPad, in a well lit room, then copied the photo, but painted the backround to suggest which direction the light was coming from. As a beginner, I find it easier to work from photos, especially when it's a subject that won't sit still for long!

Beautiful Portrait. My assosiation: the dog comes nearer I get a wet nose.
