Just lovely Annie.

Beautiful piece Annie. I like the broken edge work.

Thanks John, this started when there was a discussion amongst visitors at an exhibition looking at some of the unframed work and people made it clear they liked the broken edges. Someone asked me if it was hand made paper and I said no, but it could be. That started a whole exploration. I even did a few pieces on paper a friend had made.

A beautiful painting Annie, the paper looks wonderful

Gorgeous peonies Annie, interesting paper too.

Thank you Linda and Margaret. Painting on this paper is an experience in itself. Like going back 100 years !! Victorians regarded rag pulp paper as the very best.

Beautifully painted Annie.

A lovely painting Annie and that paper looks like it has real substance - I bet it's expensive!

Thank you Fiona and Adele. I don't think it's expensive 640 gsm rough 76 x 56cm sheet £4.80, 70x100 320gsm £5.40. You just have to order 10 sheets, but these can be mixed. http://khadi.com/shop/category/white-rag-papers/ I am pleased to support them as they keep 50 people in work and run a vegetable garden with the run off water from the factory.

Gorgeous Annie and I like the way you leave the edges it adds another dimension.

Thank you Carole, it does look good in the frame (currently hung in our local hospital). This method also saves me a lot of money on mounting!! I have a photo of it in the frame somewhere. If I can find it I'll add it as a blog entry

Beautiful work Annie

From flowers grown in a friends garden. Painted in watercolour on very thick hand made Indian paper (Khadi) I love the paper, it's a different experience to the commercial offering. Like painting on parchment. I break it rather than cut it and then leave the edges raw in the frame.
