Must look at paint my photo: I could do with the inspiration. Like your approach in this painting, which has captured the texture and feel of the wool on this lamb.

Lovely texture and expressive face - well painted

Thanks all. Oil pastel is great for texture (and less messy than soft pastel). paint my photo is well worth a look. This particularly photo was painted by Gary Jones who does great animals and birds. its such a great resource as I find it difficult to know what to draw/paint. the wetcanvas monthly challenges are also good. its interesting to see different approaches to the same image(s).

Lovely textures on the lamb's coat and I love the colours on the inside of the ears. A nice portrait beautifully painted.

I agree with all the comments already made Ann. the texture is lovely and your choice of support has really helped to convey this. I really like the background green colour coming through on the face too - it is very effective. At risk of sounding dumb, what is 'paint my photo'? Have I missed this?
