Robin by Anjana Cawdell

I like the long format and, yes, I think the intensity of the blue at the top is a bit distracting ... but bet we all say different things!

He he yes that is true, thank you so much for your honest opinion Heather :-)

Nice lively painting. I didn’t notice the blue at the top until i read the comments. Looks perfectly natural to me, a hint of sky above, perhaps seen through a bank of cloud.

Love it Anjana. All the colours flow beautifully.

Love it!

Beautiful, the Robin is very eye-catching.

Lovely work, Anjana. I think that little Robin is looking at the sky and is thankful that it is not snowing yet!!!

Thank you Adrian, Carole, Emma, Jill and Jennifer for your kind words. Noticed the blue is not as bright in real life as is in the scanned image, maybe I will get used to it or maybe crop it a teeny tiny bit! Good to know it looks natural Adrian and I like your explanation Jennifer. Once something starts bugging you you can't unsee it, so it is great to have all of your feedback - thank you

Beautiful Robin. I like the cocked head. As you have asked, I think I may prefer it without the blue...not a problem it being there though.

Great pose for this chirpy Robin,

Thank you Diane and Richard for you generous comments, it was a sweet photo to paint from. Diane I appreciate your honest opinion about the blue blob :-)

Unlike others, I like the blue, it is as if the robin is wondering what is going on up there as its pose is very much upward looking. Lovely delicate painting.

Thank you Ruth it seems jury is divided :-)

Photo reference courtesy of Albert Horsborough I quite like the long format although that wasn't the original plan, not sure about the blue at the top though is it too distracting?
