He looks very contented - a great painting

A really lovely picture - loads of character in this one!!

You have really caught him well - lovely rendition of fur and a good composition. I have been out dog-walking with my friend this afternoon and she has got two dogs who look very like Josh.

You have represented most of the fur extremely well. I think more work is needed though. It looks as though there is an animal with two large horns, the white V shape. The flash on top of the head stands out too much from the head, and the body stripe needs toning down as it recedes from the head. I am sorry to report that when I first looked at this, I could not tell what it was. Do you see what I mean? I'm sure you can fix it by a combination of toning down the white in parts and of lightening the surrounding black fur in places. I hope this will eventually result in an improved painting.

Love this sweet painting of Josh.

Thank you all for your comments - much appreciated. Barrie I will look again at my painting but I certainly take in what you say. Thanks
