What a lovely oil painting Angela and a lovely story about how you have come to paint it as well, love your rich green tones in this giving you a super background to paint the birds against, I am no ornithologist either but they do sound like they could be egrets, it is a lovely painting anyway!

Every morning in spring,I get this special low level fly past of these white birds.I,ve called them egrets, but I,m no ornithologist so they might not be.They are like small white herons. They fly upstream from their roost by the reservoir and once past my finca they only have about a mile before they reach town, but I think they break formation before that and spend the day among the rich farmland and small ponds looking for the many frogs that live there.(There are no fish here.)
