That's fun Angela. The gouacheakes the sky very deep and dark against the oranges.

Many thanks Julie , Carole, and Stephen for your lovely comments on this 'rattle snake' rearing up. Been painting images for a new project where there is a lunar eclipse in the desert. Just practicing painting with gouache... It dries very quickly but blends well and waters down too so I have discovered as wanted to create some pinnacles. First time I have painted a snake, lol!

Well I love the snake, especially the fangs. I think using gouache instead of watercolour gives it more depth, possibly because of the matteness of the medium. Not sure I've ever drawn a snake either.
