'Where Swallows Fly"

Very interesting story behind this sketch, Angela!!

Why thank you David, I started writing some historical memoirs that stemmed from old photographs my son had found in a box. Lots were black and white and it jogged me into reflecting upon childhood before we moved to the country old house. As I discovered a history group online I was amazed at how much was remembered from the brief interlude between our places of residence. I subscribed to the history groups plea to found a meeting place from one of the old premises that was going to be demolished. Some excavations that discovered remains from iron Age era have been the recent finding and a chariot with horse remains and human bones were found in barrows ,,,amazing historical findings! We use to play near that burial ground too! So fascination led me to start writing some chronological essays that kind of echoed memories from childhood days where I use to explore in 1964 Yorkshire near the Wolds! Have started to sketch some illustrations and shall print out some of these essays written last year. The Emus kind of gave me inspiration and haven't forgotten them as they jogged me into a new year of wonder, these Dinasaur replicas have paved the way for some Swallow sketches ...tot siens danke!

Interesting and good.

Nice swallow Angela, they return here about April 9...so welcome..

Why thank you Heather and Sylvia, I remember Swallows nesting in trees when growing up in Yorkshire, they use to flock in an elm tree near our house, when they migrated it was an amazing sight watching them take off, but hazey memories , can only remember their forked tail and soaring high in a flock....need to rely on watching YouTube videos to conjure up imagery or reference photographs...

A recent pencil drawing of a swallow bird in flight. I am illustrating for some historical memoirs that I started last year. The Swallow birds migrate to Southern Africa and are my mascots as in each essay chapter they appear to narrate their observations of historical epics from the late 1700's onwards.
