"The Chocolate Doll"

Amazing story and wonderful painting, Angela.

A wonderful painting and story Angela.

Fabulous story and painting Angela

Thank you Kwok, Carole, and Heather. This Abstract was painted for a Polish friend who returned to Warsaw a few years ago. She wanted to return to her place where she grew up as a child. Many times she told us her experiences so I was inspired to write the "Chocolate Doll" story. I dedicated the story to Jane and her parents who had struggled to survive after the blitz. They settled here a while later and even though they all needed to adapt with work and learn how to speak in English it was remarkable how they settled and moved through transition, a life-times work indeed!

Very unusual and a very interesting story. Lovely work.

Great story & wonderful painting, Angela!

Thank you Denise and Manoj for your lovely comments on this abstract painting, "The Chocolate Doll".

A Polish family were captured in WW2 and while they were living in a refugee camp Anna's son smelted his chocolate rations to create this doll for his mother's birthday. When they escaped on a raft behind the camp this image appeared in the sky bringing freedom and hope to them all.
