Around the lake

Always like your emu illustrations!!

Many thanks David, much appreciated. Something made me return to the series that I thought had reached completion, probably these birds are an omen of sorts? I really enjoy sketching their various poses and find them relaxing to view on photos I took at Tower Hill. Sometimes there are hidden features we overlook as they are sleek creatures , and so different from the birds of the air, descendants of the dinosaurs I think!

A great series

This caught my eye, Angela, as the other day while repairing part of a neighbour's stock fence, just across the road were 3 emus. They were talking to each other, the sound was quite amazing. Lovely painting.

Another illustration for 'Emu Child', there is a lake that was formed from a crater of a volcano that erupted 30.000 years ago and where lots of ducks and water hens flock..The Emus are spedding around the lake foraging for wild berries and nibbling insects and worms. Did work further today on the feathers and bark of the trees.
