Many thanks Coral, Heather and David. It was just a kind of doodle while I was reflecting upon Winter in England as my sister called and remarked it had been snowing. I so wanted to travel over this Christmas but cannot fly until next year so I started to sketch trees that were bare and the yearning kind of transferred into the bark!

Painted one day while sketching a still-life and got side-tracked on a piece of card! I was experimenting with Faber Castell watercolour pencils and it started out as a doodle then once I added umber and walnut brown I became entranced in how the textures surfaced! So I called it Winter!
