Excellent, it has a special calming effect.

Why thank you Kwok, This is the first Mandala I have attempted to draw and it was quite a quiet and profound experience. The circle and the dot in the centre brings about a sense of alignment for all other additions too.

Good one Angela. I have drawn some Mandalas freehand too.

I was introduced to drawing a Mandala on Sunday as I attended a Mindfulness session . Mandala means 'circle' in Sanskrit and one always starts the drawing by placing a dot in the centre of the circle as to align the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines so they cross the dot. I drew it free-style and as the tutor remarked 'there are no right or wrongs'. It was a quiet exercise and even though I didn't use a compass or measure the square shape it was so slow paced and actually refreshing to draw!
