It’s an irresistible subject isn’t it Andrew! Your impression of blossom is just right and there is depth……you can see the tree behind the blossom. The way you have painted the far trees reminds me of the way VanGogh used his brush work to describe contours and tones. Lovely work Andrew.

Thank you all for the kind comments, as always, greatly appreciated. Fiona - yes - I use VG's contouring marking technique in a lot of my drawings, but rarely in paintings, so it's good of you to notice. 😁

Local lake - tried to capture the abundance of blossom on the trees at present, could have done more. Watercolour and acrylic ink in my A5 sketchbook (double pager obviously)
