235 Flaghead Chine

235 Flaghead Chine - final whole - ws

Love the various shapes of those foreground flowers Andrea contrasting with the rather quaint background beach huts. Lovely.

That's beautifully done and on such a tiny scale too.

Thank you for your fab comment Carole. I think it was worth crouching amongst the flowers to get the right viewpoint for the painting - even though I felt a little awkward at the time! :- 0

Thank you Heather, it was one of those paintings I didn’t want to stop painting too :- ) I’m currently attempting another version at a larger size - while this one is still fresh in my memory!

A postcard-sized oil painting on gessobord of the beautiful flowers by the beach at Flaghead Chine - with a backdrop of the iconic white beach huts that line the bottom of the Chine. I love accessing the beach via this steep tree-lined walkway. It's easy to imagine Victorian ladies descending sedately in their impractical clothing to take to the waters via their modesty machines. If it happened on this stretch of the beach, I don't know - but the setting looks ideal if any movie producers are reading this!
