Azure Remembrance - The Light of Antibes by Ana Smarz
I came back from the Côte d'Azur with my head full of color. Antibes stayed with me longest – a town where light feels thicker than blue, heavier than sunshine. Standing by the old town walls, gazing at the Château Grimaldi tower, I felt Picasso once stood on that same spot, looking at that same sea. This painting holds that afternoon: warm wind, sailboats flickering on the horizon, sun-drenched pink and ochre walls. I painted fast, in thick strokes.
