I love Berlin's Christmas markets! The magical atmosphere of Gendarmenmarkt at dusk – that's what I wanted to capture here. The Französischer Dom rising above the festive stalls, the deep blue sky contrasting with warm lights, white tents with colorful accents, crowds wandering between stands. I painted this from memory and emotion with energetic, gestural brushstrokes. Berlin during the holidays is pure magic. I hope this painting brings you some of that joy.
