thanks Timothy, limited palette of 3 colours - it was such a dull day I didn't think I'd be able to make it work!! cheers Amanda

You need not have worried...the duotone+one effect works really well!

Wonderful painting. I have a lady in my art group just now trying hard to paint this sort of scene in wet into wet. It is extremely difficult.

Very fine, Amanda. I particularly like the naturalness of the people, although they are simply rendered.

A wonderful painting Amanda.

This is gorgeous. I remember Lucca very well, and sketched there with my painting friends. We sat in the sunlit square with coffees, and walked round the amazing battlement walls. I feel very similarly to you about watercolour - it is exciting and magical. Thanks for explaining your methods, I enjoyed reading about them. Your limited palette and clever accuracy are wonderful.

Another stunning piece, full of atmosphere. light and vitality.

Outstanding work Amanda!

Fabulous limited palette which works so well in this painting !!

Really like this, Amanda

A super watercolour here Amanda!

thanks for your great comments everyone - very much appreciated!! Dorothy, could you suggest to your friend to try more of a "plein air" style to see if it works better for her? sometimes you have to do things in another direction and go back to what you want to do. so I'm meaning dry paper, lots of wet paint starting at the top and working down.

I don’t think Ive noticed your work before Amanda but I like it . I love the palette hers and the beautiful mix of lard lines amongst the wet in wet.

Hello Diana, thank you, I'm new to POL!! cheers Amanda

Love it, it's beautifully painted, great work!
