I like this. The stones are good and there's a good sense of distance.

Thank you, all. I do enjoy painting this type of subject. The main problem now with the planned companion piece is that the school holidays have just started and I doubt I will get much painting-at-home time (with the big easel occupying the living room) for a while. Obtaining a 20" tall canvas (haven't decided if the width will be the same) is a triviality!

I love the way you have done the stones; the light ... that menacing half-light before a storm. Hopefully you will be able to fit some painting in somewhere.
