This is lovely. It is reminiscent of the wooden houses in Sweden which are mostly red.

Like this one - there's a sense of solidity, and I must say I like a bit of precision, too.

Gudrun, this being Southern England (where we chopped down most of the trees ages ago - more likely to create an aristocrat's deer park than to build the parking lot in the song), the building is, of course, brick-built. But yes - I see what you mean; the way the red stands out against the snow...
